Anti-Imperial Metropolis: Interwar Paris and the Seeds of Third World Nationalism Interwar Paris became a crossroads for anticolonial and anti-imperialist ideas that helped shape a post-imperial world order. This talk seeks to reconstruct the microhistory of these politics from the perspective of social and urban history, foregrounding the role of migration in an unequal world of rights. It argues that this cauldron shaped a particular way of thinking about the world that later proved uniquely influential.
